Universal Orlando Resort updates its Butterbeer Season

Reading Harry Potter is a good way to get cravings. Some people say to never grocery shop hungry, but I'd say that you may enjoy fictional food envy if you read hungry. Between treacle tart, Chocolate Frogs, Drooble's Best Blowing Gum, and even Aunt Petunia's pudding, the books are the source of many mouth-watering things. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter celebrates that with Butterbeer Season and this year, it's even harder to resist than ever.

What's new for butterbeer?

According to correspondence from Universal, the Butterbeer Season "is a Warner Bros. Discovery global franchise to annually celebrate the flavor, scent and look of the iconic beverage fans will recognize from the magical world of Harry Potter." It's considered to be a "fan favorite symbol of joy, comfort, warmth and togetherness."

That's not hard to imagine, since it's been something associated with friends and family since its introduction in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It even serves as a liquid comfort food when Harry and the Weasleys are worried about Mr. Weasley in the fifth book

The pars in both California and Florida "will introduce an all-knew Butterbeer Cream Puff just for the season, available at the Three Broomsticks where guests can also savor frozen or cold Butterbeer in a limited-edition Gold Souvenir Stein." Also included in the extra-sweet offerings are the chocolate bar with butterbeer flavoring and a Butterbeer Caramel, plus an Iced Lolly frozen dessert or those who want a break from the season's eatings.

If you'd like to enjoy some exclusive merchandise, "a bespoke Butterbeer themed merchandise collection will also take centerstage as part of Btterbeer Season." It will "include apparel such as a plaid shirt, zipped fleece hoodie and t-shirt as well as accessories from a crossbody bag to caps, socks and more."

This special theme runs from March 1-May 31 and is perfectly-timed to coincide with the rollout of upgrades in the Universal Orlando Resort such as new adventures and upgraded wand experiences. It will be available at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade, at Universal Islands of Adventure and at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida. In California, it will take place at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood.
