With the new Harry Potter series now officially in production, more cast members have been confirmed! Previous casting announcements included the Golden Trio, Hogwarts professors, and other students in Harry's year.

Audiences know who will be teaching Potions, who is taking over as Harry's school rival, and even who is playing the peer Harry takes to the Yule Ball a few seasons in the future. Two more adult characters and two more of Harry's peers were added to that piece of parchment alongside the first look of Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, checking some anticipated announcements off our list.

Rory Wilmot is the new Neville Longbottom, a role played by Matthew Lewis in the film adaptations, the Gryffindor student with one of the best character arcs of the series. The young actor has one credit so far, portraying Edvard Lassen in an episode of FBI: International. He will also be in the Netflix miniseries Out of the Dust alongside Asa Butterfield and Christopher Eccleston.

Harry's Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon were cast with Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby, respectively, taking on the roles, but fans were still waiting for their son and Harry's cousin, Dudley. The Dursley trio is now complete, with the announcement that young actor Amos Kitson will play Dudley. The series is his first credit.

Rounding out the Hogwarts staff are Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch, the Flying professor and Quidditch referee, who is a big part of the first book. She not only teaches Harry how to fly on a broom, but also makes sure everyone plays by the rules in Quidditch, especially during those Gryffindor vs. Slytherin games. The actress is known for playing Molly Hooper in Sherlock, Roxanne Bird in Casualty, and Pamela in Lockwood & Co.

Arguably one of the most essential characters of the series, wandmaker Garrick Ollivander will be portrayed by Anton Lesser. While Hagrid tells Harry he's a wizard, Ollivander gives him the tool to bring his magic to life. He's worked with HBO before as Qyburn in Game of Thrones, though audiences might also recognize the actor as Major Partagaz in Andor and as Harold MacMillan in The Crown.

While these recent addition to the Harry Potter series cast fill some gaps, fans are eagerly awaiting the casting of other characters like Fred and George Weasley, Nearly Headless Nick, Oliver Wood, and Peeves. There are also other students, like Dean Thomas, Angelina Johnson, Lee Jordan, and Marcus Flint, who come up in the story due to their connections to Quidditch and Gryffindor, that have yet to be announced.

While the show isn't set to debut until 2027, making it quite the wait for fans, these new casting announcements give those eagerly anticipating its release something in the meantime. With production now underway, there's also a chance that additional cast members and first look photos are just around the corridor. We'll keep you updated with anything and everything about the new Harry Potter show as it's announced.
