LEGO has brought us some amazing things over the years in the Harry Potter fandom, from simple but book-accurate figures to complex cityscapes. There are two major settings from the series that have received a set and according to rumors, we could see one that not only contains 3,228 pieces, but completes a trilogy of related projects. Here's what reports say about an all-wizarding village.
Could we see Hogsmeade in 2025?
The rumor comes from LEGO fan site Brick Fanatics, which is always a great source for understanding the upcoming releases and anticipated news. In this case, the fanatics say that "the latest rumors from Instagram user fateful_04 suggest the 3,228-piece 76457 Hogsmeade Village could launch in September 2025." The reason they say it could complete a trilogy is that with 2025's Diagon Alley and 2023's Hogwarts Castle and Grounds, this could create a wonderful landscape of wizarding locales. The Hogwarts set contains 2,660 pieces and you can imagine a stroll along Diagon Alley with 2,750 pieces. The article admits that "while there's no price rumored just yet, that hefty piece count would fit with a microscale version of the wizarding town." It's remarkable that "it would also ocmplete a microscale version of every major location visited in the wizarding world." If you think they've missed a few, they comment that "Other magical places, like the Ministry of Magic or the Quidditch World Cup, are more one-off locales, rather than groups of locations with plenty of details to dig into."
We've already seen what LEGO can do with a mercantile setting and it would be great to see the less cosmopolitan home to magical doings and beings. "Between the Shrieking Shack, the Hog's Head, the Three Broomsticks, Zonko's Joke Shop (competition for Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, Dervish and Banges, Hogsmeade Station (possibly compete with the iconic red steam train), Honeydukes the sweet shop, and various other shops that get a mention in the books, a microscale version of the village...could work well." It would be great to have this sprawling village alongside the castle where many of the shops' patrons spend their schooldays.
We have no official confirmation of the contents or the date of release, but will be keeping an eye on this way to "offer LEGO Harry Potter fans a way to recreate the full scope of the Wizarding World." If it's on the way for 2025, we hope it will be available in time for the holidays.
