It seems that every year, there are younger kids able to appreciate the magical side of life with Harry Potter. We recently heard about the Pocket Potters books for young readers and a quick search revealed that you can find a Harry Potter-themed teething ring. If you're local fan isn't quite at that basic a level, they can still feel Hogwarts school spirit through a new release through Walmart.
What is the new merch from JAKKS Pacific?
ToyBook.com recently featured a line of Hogwarts houe robes from the brand JAKKS Pacific. Says the company's SVP of Marketing Debbie Haag, "Every oung witch and wizard dreams of donning their house colors and stepping into the magical world of Harry Potter...With these high-quality robes, fans of all ages can truly celebrate themselves in the adventure - whether they're casting spells, attending a themed event, or simply showing off their house pride." The robes are "designed with authenticity in mind" and "in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products." The site amusingly describes them as "too cool for school," but also notes that "whether they're a Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or a Hufflepuff, there's a robe to show of f every kid's house pride."
The costumes are licensed and "intended for older kids," which might explain the level of detail. ToyBook mentions that "each costume features an embroidered house crest, a pointed hood, pockets, and a colorful silken lining matching the house's colors." My favorite of the features is the "hidden pocket to fit kids' wands while they play." There's a fastening at the collar or they can be worn more open and it mentions that they can fit a child's size L or XL. The suggested age range is for "Child Ages 10 years and up."
The line of robes currently retails for $39.97 USD, a reasonable price for such high quaity. It is officially licensed as well The retailer has a section of its site dedicated to all things Harry Potter, whether costumes for specific characters or clothes for their range of house-themed dolls. It's a great way to bring do-it-yourself costume projects to a new level if you want. Outside of the costume department, you can find plenty of fun fashion and toys that merely shows your love for the Boy-Who-Lived. I'm personally most interested in the Butterbeer Season food on sale.
This isn't a seasonal thing, so the time is right to gear up for Hogwarts.
