It used to be that seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child required time and travel for many people. I've known people who flew to England to see its original production while I traveled 2000 miles to New York City to see it on Broadway. There are now productions in Japan, Germany, and the Netherlands and secondary schools began performing school editions recently. With the North American Tour, it's becoming easier to see the play for many. Here is what we know about the venues.
Where will Harry Potter come on the tour?
According to the official site, the tour is currently in residence at the Hollywood Pantages and tickets are available through June 22, 2025. This venue on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles opened in 1930 and has been home to films as well as stage productions. It even used to host the Academy Awards.
After a brief break for relocation, the play will open in Washington, D.C. on July 8l with Broadway at the National. The National Theatre has a rich history, which includes rebuilding after multiple fires and seeing the patronage of Abraham Lincoln. 1984 saw its most recent renovations.
This past week saw Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston announce that it will be home to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in November and December. The Colonial Theatre is the oldest continually-operating theater in Boston, having opened in 1900. It is known for shows that then went on to Broadway success, such as Carousel, La Cage aux Folles, and last year, Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz' Queen of Versailles premiere.
In the new year, the show will head south to the Fox Theatre in Atlanta for a February 28, 2026 opening. This former movie theater is the reason Atlanta has a Fox Theatre Historic District. Fans of classic cinema may be interested to know that, while Gone With the Wind did not premier there, the parade for the movie's opening in 1939 began at the Fox Theatre. It is home to Atlanta Ballet's performances of The Nutcracker. Past performers have included Elvis, Bruce Springsteen, and even the Rolling Stones.
Last, but not least, in the announced lineup is the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis. The theater opened in 1921 with performances by the Marx Brothers, but it is also known for originating Victor/Victoria and The Lion King. Harry's run there opens on April 25.
