What does the Harry Potter film series get wrong? Some of it is so minute, but to me, it's all of it. The magic isn't the same when the little things are off. These are good reminders that stories like this do vary depending on who tells them.
From Rita Skeeter’s secret to Dumbledore’s tone, these small details in the Harry Potter films may seem minor, but they changed the story in major ways for fans who noticed.
1. Harry Potter has blue eyes
In the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry's eyes are said to be the same as his mother Lily's eyes. They're green.
""He had a thin face, knobbly knees, black hair, and bright green eyes." "Chapter 2: The Vanishing Glass.
Daniel Radcliffe's eyes, however, are blue. He attempts to use contact lenses first, but they sting his eyes. So, he returns to not wearing them in order to preserve his eyesight. J.K. Rowling doesn't mind this change.

2. Voldemort
What’s wrong with him? Well, it seems like the pronunciation is off. Voldemort should actually be pronounced Voldemor, following French language rules. J.K. Rowling confirmed that this is correct. So, Voldemor, you’re not always wrong!

3. Is Hermione's gown blue?
In the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire film, why is it pink afterwards? Costume designers do that to provide contrast with the Yule Ball ornaments to make Hermione stand out even more. And frankly, it makes her even prettier.

4. Dumbledore in Book vs. Movie: The Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire scene that caused controversy
Ah, the scene..! The one where Dumbledore comes running at Harry and shouts, "HARRY! DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE?!" Creepy. I flinched, for real. I could recall thinking, Wait, isn't Dumbledore going to be composed? And he was, the books at least.
In the book, he says Harry softly, more like soothing him. "Did you put your name in the Goblet of Fire, Harry?" Softly. No shouting or running. Just a matter of trusting the boy he'd grown up watching. Isn't it interesting how that little change in tone makes us perceive the character differently?

5. Rita Skeeter's secret never appears in the Harry Potter movies
Rita's always poking around, always just a tad too well-groomed, too smug. But the films never explain why she's so adept at discovering sleazy gossip.
We learn in the books that she is an unregistered Animagus. A beetle. She inserts herself into conversations unnoticed, crawling on hands and knees and eavesdropping. Hermione, bless her quick thinking, catches her in a jar and keeps her prisoner for a whole year.
It's a quiet justice the films leave out. Later on, Hermione even blackmails her into releasing the news of Voldemort's return. It's a diabolically clever plot twist, with subtle manipulation, and it never makes it to the big screen. And I just can't help but wonder how many other stories are hiding behind what we think we know?
