What does all of this mean for the future of the Fantastic Beasts series?

The future of the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series no longer hangs in whatever storyline they’re going to do but rather how it will be accepted by fans.

While many fans of the Harry Potter series have signed out of Hogwarts, there are some who are still supporting J.K. Rowling and everything to do with the wizarding world. But while Rowling has caused a very clear divide in her fanbase, the question then switches to the Fantastic Beasts series and what the future holds for Newt Scamander.

Not only was the series already questioned by fans because of some cast members, it also now has the implications of supporting Rowling despite her transphobic tweets and blog post to combat with. For many fans, they are writing off the series and that includes whatever future movies coming out set in the wizarding world as long as J.K. Rowling is in charge and benefits from it.

So how exactly is this all going to hit Fantastic Beasts 3? Well, it depends on us. If we want to go and support the movie and the cast (and by default, Rowling) then they’ll probably still keep making them. But if enough fans stick to their messaging and refuse to take in any more Harry Potter content that benefits J.K. Rowling, then they might have to re-examine things. Especially since Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald did not do as well in the theaters and fans were not that happy with how it turned out.

Right now, we’ll just have to wait and see how things pan out but it’ll be interesting.
