Harry Potter is a series beloved by so many fans throughout the world but should we keep expanding the world or just let it live as it is with the original series?
More often than not, we want to go back to Hogwarts and revisit the Harry Potter series. A lot of the time, it is just by reading the books again or watching the movies but some want to either remake the works we have or look into sequels to J.K. Rowling’s original work but the real question is: Should we?
Look, I am someone who constantly yells about my love of the Marauders and how much I want to see them shine on their own but then again, making a prequel series is a bit different and is what is being done with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them anyway. But should we look at even expanding the world anymore or let it stay where it is?
It’s a complicated game because, on one hand, we love learning more about the wizarding world and looking back on the characters we know and love. But then, on the other hand, it can get messy. Like Minerva McGonagall being a teacher at Hogwarts in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald when, in the canon, she wasn’t even born yet and her parents were not teachers at Hogwarts.
We want to look at more of our faves but the question is, at what cost? Should we continue to do this or stop? And to be honest, who really knows when enough is going to be enough for us as fans?
